Is there any good way do get aroung a mounting depth problem besides getting new subs?? I have a Dodge Dakota Ext. Cab and the MTX Thunderform for it (houses 2 10's under the rear seat) I know its prefab but I have heard a lot of good things about them. Anyway, I'm not a fan of MTX Subs so I ordered the box empty and purchased 2 Image Dynamics IDQ 10's. I have read that others have used this combo and had no trouble. My IDQ's seem to be about 1/8-1/4" too deep for the box. I thought about making a spacer but I have heard bad things about spacers. Does anyone have any advice.

Thank you in advance

If your mount only requires 1/4 or less spacer wise I would use the spacer. I would fabricate one myself if I were you. use some thin luan board and then use some weather stripping between it and the speaker for a good seal
