Need your opinion!

Hey guys! Recently bought two Kicker L5 12 inch subs 2 ohm. I was wondering what amp you would recommend buying. I was running just two Jl Audio W0v3's on a jl 500.1 amp. I know the kickers can handle so much more power but was wanting input from you all. Should I stick with a mono amp or get 2 channel? What do you all think?

Get a monoblock that does 1200 watts at 2ohm. A hifonics brz1700 does that. I have one and I'm happy with it. I got mine used for 160.

well they are 600 watt rms and 2 ohm. so get a mono amp rated at 1 ohm. wire your subs together to get 1 ohm load.

so look for a 1200 watt rms at 1 ohm amp. you can get a bigger one but you need to adjust your gain. well you need to do that anyway.

whats your budget for an amp ?

do you have any electrical upgrades ?

what size wire are you runnin ?

I'd like to stay under $300 for the amp, but don't mind spending extra cash for something better. I don't have any electrical upgrades. Running 8 gauge power an ground with a 60 amp fuse. 12 gauge speaker wire. I bought my first system about 3 months ago and didn't want to pay an extra $1000 dollars I have it installed so I installed myself and looked up the diagrams on how to do it. I do think that the l5's are wired in series in the box.

You can't wire 2 2ohm subs to 1ohm.
