Is this safe for now?

Ok so here's the deal I am getting another DD 3510 dual 2 soon I already have one. I was wanting to wire at 0.5 ohm but use a dmm to set gain to the normal rms my amp puts out at 1 ohm. Amp is Crescendo BC2000D. Just a thought let me know what you think. I'm on stock electrical with big 3 and plan on upgrading electrical in the future. Later on after that I'm planning on getting another amp and strapping them.

Electrical is stock. Car is 4.3 v6 s10. Amp runs fine at 1 ohm doesn't get hot stays cool. I know people run at 0.5 ohm to get more power. I wanted to know if when my amp is outputting 2250 rms at 1 ohm or 2250 rms at 0.5 ohm is it worse for my amp. Less resistance but same output?

if the amp can do 0.5 ohms and is strap-able your good. but your stock elec. system cannot handle that much. so your voltage will drop and that is not good for amps.

you need to get at least a high output alt. and a battery or 2 .

from what i have read your stock elec. system can handle about 1,000rms . more then that and its hard on you elec. system and amps.

right now on my 88 s10 blazer im running about 2,500 rms and i have a 200amp alt. and going to get 2 audio battery for the back. right now i only have 1 yellow top battery under the hood.

and it does good i only drop down to 14 volts when full tilt. but im getting another 15" sub and another amp for it. so im going to need 2 extra batterys .

i hope this will help you...

Yes it does thanks. If I watch my voltage and I can feel my amp when I drive in case it gets warm. This is just temporary for now until I get another amp and more Batts and high output alt. I will just set my Gain to where I have no voltage drop it should be OK right? It seems like the main problem is not enough voltage frying equipment so after voltage is taken care of there should be no worries?

best thing i can tell you is turn the gain down so your not pushing it. but this will lower your sub output. just remember the more you push things the more power it ( amp ) will need . and if your system cant handle it things will suffer .

so ya just dont push your amp to max. keep it a little lower on the gain and you sould be ok and ya just keep an eye on your voltage. but you will know ( headlights dimming every time the sub hits ) thats voltage drop. and your truck has a computer and they dont like voltage dips and spikes.

do you know if the stock alt. is 100amp ?

i know my stock alt was 78amp. then i rebuilt it to make 100amp and that did help allot. but still was not enough so i got a db alt ( 200amp ) and that works great. check them out. do a search for db alts.

I believe it's actually a 120 amp alt when I bought it he said he replaced it with the bigger alt. It doesn't do to bad with only big three w/ 0 Guage and my amp at 1 ohm.

I would really eyeball as mentioned. Because also as mentioned, running that amp at .5 Ohm is going crank up the power beyond 2300 RMS, really straining your stock electrical.

My honest recommendation would be to get a new alternator and batteries first. Then you know you're good to go.

As I said gain would be set so it hopefully won't do the 2300 but I will be paying very close attention to amp temperature and voltage. I'll try it out if it isn't reliable with voltage then I'll wire it to 2 ohm. If I added a 0.5 ohm resistor to the subs for a 1 ohm load for now is that possible? I just keep getting ideas lol
