I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab.
- I am trying to decide on a sub/amp combo to go with my current system.
- I listen to mostly rock (hard rock, alternative, metal) and rap.
My current system includes:
- Pioneer DEH-P6000UB Head Unit (provides 14 watts RMS, 50 watts Peak Power)
- Polk Audio DB5251 5.25" Component Speakers (2 tweeters, 2 woofers, 2 crossovers) (these can handle 10 - 100 watts RMS, 250 watts Peak Power)
- Polk Audio DB571 5"x7" 2 Way Coaxial Car Speakers (these can handle 6 - 60 watts RMS, 180 watts Peak Power)
I want to add an amp and a subwoofer to this system.
Right now I'm looking at a Boston Acoustics G212SS 12" G2 Subwoofer (sealed box) (The sub can handle 100 - 300 watts RMS)
I plan on getting an Alpine PDX-5 Channel Amplifier (75 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts RMS x 1) to power the whole thing.
I need your input. Does this sound like it will be a good setup? I want my sub to be accurate when playing my faster rock songs but still "boom" when I play my rap songs. Any suggestions?
