amp is acting weird

brother in law gave me this amp and i tested it out in a friends car disconnected his amp and connected mine. all wires were properly connected and when i turn the sterio on the amp is stable for 6sec on red and switched to green for a quick and went back to red and so on. the amp is a 4ch amp precision power PPI 4240

Obviously it's a bad amp, if ur buddies amp works on the same wires

Is the imp. load too low for the amp in question?

what was the other amp...how many channels did it have, and what are u running this 4 channel amp too, check wire connections what u have the gain set to stuff like that..other wise amps prolly just bad
