Hey guys... I need your help..

quite honestly this test session is brewing into a size I couldn't have imagined... as such.. I have to take a hard look at what we can accomplish in two days..

so I need input...and majority wins... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm thinking about testing 1 12" woofer, instead of a pair... doing optimized volume sealed, and ported testing in one vehicle.. doing critical listening in what we feel is the best box for each woofer, in another vehicle.. and doing SPL fart testing in a 3rd vehicle, with a common SPL design...

it may be possible to do T/S testing on site.. would that be something you wanna see?

what do you all want to see?

thanks!

*edit*if anyone has ANY 12... regardless of price and condition.. and wouldn't mind sending it to test, or if you wanna see it die in style... pm me, I'll try to make it worth your while..

I love how everyone posts that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Whatever the options, I know there's going to be a colossal amount of Pepsi involved...

I think doing T/S measurements on site, and putting each woofer in a perfect alignment, would stop bs at the door... but it will take time.. lol

if we try to simply stick to putting woofers in a volume with 10-15% of reccomended volumes... it can go faster.. and we can do more fun stuff... like murdering..

I certainly will have an SPL fart test section.. because I'm tired of hearing "yo those mags only did a 141? lol :noob: :die:"

and no 15's.... or 10's.... or 18's... or 6.5's... we did 8's before... its 12's now... lol maybe 15's next time... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

also.. we can do dual 12" testing for most of the woofers coming.. but we are getting several singles.. so a strickly single test may be the best idear...

I posted what I'm going on my home forum.. and response on sending woofers has been tremendous.. I can honestly say we may have 30 different 12" woofers coming... lmao

I'll bring a 1.5cF/ea. dual ported box that I've had sitting around for a while...tuned to 27Hz, should be perfect for the drivers that like a smaller box.

Or I could just pull the e12a out and use that box. And hide it...

I assume people will always argue about something, but it should hopefully give a lot of fence sitters some good data which to make judgements.

Mr Nick from SI owns a woofer tester unit.. so getting t/s data won't be hard..

then people may argue its incorrect.. lol

but you're right.. somebody will always find something wrong.. esp when their woofer doesn't match up.. lol

just for shits and gigles..test them in a 4th order bandpass to see how they work in that kind of box application?

thats the only idea i can come up with ...other than meter each sub at the dash sealed up, or passanger kick with driver door open, or at the dash with driver door open

we'll maintain a headrest measurement for frequency response testing because honestly.. nobody rides with their head crammed up in the dash... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but yes... for SPL box testing in the SPL vehicle... we'll be doing both db drag style, and usaci / meca outlaw testing..

4th order may be doable.. but would require extensive amounts of time to load and unload woofers from it...
