Need your help deciding: 3sixty or alpine 701

I'd like to hear what you guys have to say about these 2 units.

I like the massive control the 3sixty.2 gives. Palm pilot control is pretty cool too

on the other hand.... the alpine unit will plug right in and work with my IVA-W200 and could be controlled right from there with no extra work.

Both seem to be about the same price give or take $100.00

I just can't decide....

If you could control the alpine off of your head unit, I would go with that. I doubt you would want to dish out an extra couple of hundred dollars on top of the price of the 360 for the palm pilot. I think the Alpine is your best bet.

the alpine has better tuning abilities and more channels.... don't see any reason why one in your position would go for the 3sixty.....

Actually the 360.2 does, its also 1/2 the size.

I would get the 701 simply because it will connect to your W200 with no problems.

I haven't seen the 701 in person to know what options are actually adjustable on the HU but I did checkout a 3sixty and was very impressed. If I didnt already have a HU that would control one or the other... I'd be going with the 3sixty. thats where the delima comes in.

Leaning more towards the alpine unit though just to keep things cheaper and easier to use.

Ive only played with the 701 combo on a 7998, not as a stand alone unit hooked up to an alpine h/u that will control it. I think its the more logical choice

I have never owned either but have been researching it lately. I have decided to go active and give myself a head ache trying to adjust it. The majority of the people I spoke to prefer the 701 because of the features. I have only been speaking to SQ competitors and SQ nerds.

Can you control all the features w/ your HU or just the basic ones?

Do you know which ones (W200, 9861 and ?)? I would much rather have a HU that controled it istead of having to buy the controler. I then could just sell my HU and put the $$ towards the HU that can actually control it.

The controller isnt the nicest looking thing ever made either.

701 you already got the W200. Checking Alpine info it will control the 701 just fine. BTW there are several alpine units that will control it. The 701 is way more logical in your situation.
