Wassup everybody, i really don't know all too much about car audio. I'm looking for an in dash DVD/GPS head unit. I don't really need special features, like bluetooth or that ipod stuff. I was just browsing and came across the Panasonic Strada which looked pretty amazing for a head unit and the price it was selling for at the time (only $600) got me interested. Anyway my price range is around $500-$800 because its something I've been interested in for a while now. If anybody could help me it would be very much appreciated.

Also i will want to upgrade more car audio in the future, so expect to see me again with more dumbass questions...

Sick, thats some good help guys thanks.

Just wondering though... It says the pioneer Avic-D3 can't do navigation without a navigation CD. Is it the same with most dvd/gps style decks? Because i don't want to stop playing my music in order to find directions to a park or area with some fine ladies.........

no, you have to have the disc. they come wit the unit

iirc some eclipse units have dual slots but you arent gonna find one for 800,,sorry bro

You have to have the Navi CD, BUT, you can pre-store a map and directions to a certain place, and then take the Navi CD out. You will still have the directions and everything, but with no Navi CD in.

you could probably find a used avn 6600 on ebay in your price range i bought mine for about 700 on ebay. and with that one you have to dvd slots so the navi disc never comes out.

Daaaamn, that 6600 looks pretty slick. Thing is how good do refurbished items work. You never really know until they break. It could last for a long time or last for a preset time, its real iffy. But I will definitely keep that deck on my list.

Is there any other decks that can play your music while running your navigation off a hard drive? I was looking at the Kenwood DNX7100 on Cnet and it looks pretty suitable. Are there any horror stories i should know besides the incredibly cluttered screen navigation, because i think i could live with that.

And as for the ladies, up north has some pretty fine ones too. Most of them ARE hairless throughout their body from what I've seen. Except with the oddballs with horse teeth, then you know to stay away...
