Need vinyl covering techniques/tips for box

I have covered boxes with carpet before. How difficult are they to cover in vinyl? What should I be watching out for. I was just going to go and buy some vinyl and foam padding at the local fabric market and start glueing and stretching. How do you acclomplich the seems? I will be tackling this soon, so if you can help, please do!

vinyl isn't easy to work with. and vinyl with padding under it on a box = :-\ everyone ive seen that has used the padding looks like crap. round all the corners on the outside of the box with a roundover bit on a router, use a rabbit bit on the sides of the box to tuck the vinyl in. get a HEAT gun to heat up the vinyl for the corners,

spray glue, apply heat, STREEEETCH, push it in the divit you made with the rabbit bit, and throw some cold water on the vinyl to 'cool' it down. and repeat, not as easy as people make it seem.
