Need theoretical opinions

Most know my setup, and if not, its in my sig......anyway, I have an '05 re XXX 15, in a snailshell box measuring 31x17x21. I have an Orion 2500d powering it. Now, b4 when I had the hifonics pushing it, I hit 145.4 on a new tl in my trunk. My epic 150 read 146, so I know the epic is actually really accurate. Now that the orion is on it, my epic is consistently seeing 148's. I figure i'm around 147's now.

Here's the question......I want opinions before I buy a new sub......

Is there a sub out there, other than my xxx, that I could replace it w/ to get louder w/ my exact setup?? I know there are lots of variables, but is there a sub that will flat out destroy a XXX w/ 2500 watts? I dont want it to sound sloppy, because the xxx actually is very clean for how loud it is. I dont wanna spend tons of money on a sub that will just let me down......whatcha think, peeps?

I just want opinions. And, I'm only interested in getting a different 15", not changing to any different sizes...I even threw around the idea of getting a box done, to see how that works, but I'm not sure yet.

Maybe a loaded BTL? Never experienced them, but hear they get loud.

i've heard good things about TC's 5400. That handles 2500 continuous.

I'm just a little worried about buying a sub that may easily be a dog compared to the almighty xxx

I wish there's a thing like car dealerships have where you can test stuff b4 you buy

I've been told a btl wont come close either. I'm not gonna get a hatch just to get loud, just wanna toy w/ some stuff.

Yeah i know what your saying. that xxx can cast a big shadow on other woofers.

I've never heard one, but I was looking at the SS RL-S the other day and it looks like a monster. Might be worth looking at.
