Need Sub That Will Fit... Recomendations?

I have limited space because I'm installing a sub under the rear seat in my KC Titan.

I have a few options.

Best box I have found has a max of 5.75 inches mount depth and .75 ft enclosure.

I might be able to get slightly more space but only if I decide to fiberglass. This is for a down firing box which I'm thinking I would prefer so I could toss crap on top of it if need be when I put the seat up. I can also fit MORE mount depth if I make the subs fire forward and make a custom fiberglass box for them. I'm not sure exactly how much more space I would have but I saw someone fit W7 8" in a CC (bigger than my KC truck though)

So I have been looking for a sub that I think will fit. Please Correct me if I am wrong about my selections and feel free to post "Better" ones.

I have a 600 watt 300x2 @ 2 ohm Older Hifonics amplifier.

Sound Splinter RL-I 10's (Not sure if there is enough room for the speaker to breath mounting depth wise)

New Kodas 10's (says they will be 300 watts each and made for smaller enclosures than last years but they are not out yet)

IDQ 10's Not a whole lot of power needed for these so I'm not sure how good of an option they are.

JL W3V2's (I know these will fit since the magnet does not require much space since the VC vents from the top.

RE: (I think they make a sub that fits, but it's like their cheapest one.)

Eclipse (They also make 1 sub that fits but I am not sure which one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif )

My goal is either a SQ system or SQL system (not SPL) Will be running some DLS 6.2 Iridiums in the front off 75x2 amp and some dul mag mids in rear doors off the HU. So wich of these is best, priceis not much concern as I would like to get the best sub for what I want the first time.

Thanks for reading and/or helping

really? why 8's? I believe I can fit 2 RE entry level 10's but I'm not sure on the mounting depth. Would those be better than the other options listed above for a small enclosure?

I can't fit any other RE subs as they just stick out too far to fit. Unless I face them forward but then I have to deal with worrying about people kicking them and I lose more storage space in the back of the trucks cab.

I recommend them becuase they meet your space and power requirments. And they are great speakers. Will get plenty loud/low for you:)

RL-i - will not fit due to the mounting depth.

IDQ - no experience

JLw3 - To expensive granted the other options.

If you wish to get the 10's thats still a good option. 8's will just be easier to fit in there.

I'm just not thinking 8's will be loud enough, coming from 2 12's...Espeicaly not the SVC RE ones. Only 175 watts each @ 4 ohms, my amp will only put out 150x2. Unless I bridge it and run them in mono instead of sterio. then I have 2x the power I need.

Are you sure the RL-i's wonn't fit? I was under the impression that the 10 inch version would fit.

What about the new Koda 10's They seem to be a good fit and 300 watts each DVC, and made for .75 cu enclosures. Not sure when they are coming out I was told they would be out by now.

You sure the RE re8" are comparable to 2 JL W3V2 10's? they only use 1/2 the watts? W3's are actualy pretty cheap. I was thinking about getting them in a stealth box for the KC (2 10's in even smaller spaces than I listed) but it is not out for my truck yet, maybe by X-mas.

You say single voice coil like it is a bad thing:confused:

Email Mike at sound splinter and let him know your situation. He will be able to tell you if the RL-i will work. The RL-i8's I've used were very deep speakers.

I never said the RE8 was better than the W3v2. I said the W3v2 was more expensive than any of the listed options.

All of your choices are going to be less output than 2 12's, that is a simple fact.

So when you factor in cost and effectiveness the RE8 would fit nicely.

my 12's were just W0's before so I think 2 10's could match them. But I'm lookign for better SQ than my W0's

I found out the box im looking at (Pro-Box) will fit and has a mount depth of 5.75" not 4.75 like I origionaly thought!

They make a similar box for 12's and it says 6.5 inch mount depth, but it looks the same in the picture. I don't have the box dimensions to see if it would fit under my seat or not. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The box for 10's has been proven to fit already.

With that new info the RL-i10 gets bumped up. I've used two of the 8's before and they walked all over the RE8. Shit my boy is running them right now in his Expo and he said they were just as loud as his previous dual 10" Hx2's he ran.

The SQ on them is amazing also. Very accurate.

Shoot Mike an email.

well im not sure about the box for the 12's so I may still be limited to 5.75 inch mount depth for the box, does that mean the box is made to mount subs that deep or does it mean that is the max before the magnet hits against the box itself? If the sub is 5.6 inches deep will it have enough space to vent?

How willt he RLI 10 compare to something like an Adire Koda when the new Kodas come out SQ wise?

anyone know? Also what sould the SQ / SPL difference be between somethng released from adire liek their new Koda 10 coming out and a sound splinter? Again, I'm not that worried about cost of the subs after purchasing Iridium fronts!

There is no way to tell how well a speaker will perform without using it. So no one can tell you how well the new Koda will compare to the RL-i yet.

As per your mounting depth question, 5.75 is to the back of the wall. You normally want to have at least 1-2 inches but can squeze less space in ther if you are running it ported.

Then it does not sound as if there is enough space for the RLi-10 and the 8 is only deeper....The box I'm looking into buying is sealed and I would like to use a sealed box as this is for SQ and I don't know much about porting boxes for SQ.

Sounds like the JL W3V2 might be my only option then, and I wanted to get something different...

My Friend with the same truck was able to put in a shallow depth Audio-B...It's 1000 Watts RMS and he has plent of space, I guess thats another option since theres not many decent shallow mount subs out there...Only thing is I don't want that suB!

So other than the Audiobaughn (because I hear there stuff sucks) it would appear that the stealthbox W3V2 is the best option available! No wonder JL can charge so much for their stuff...Looks like I will be saving up that $700 for W3's then...Everyone disses them but I guess they have their place too since no one else really make s asub that will fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif with good sql. Or I can get one of those Audiobaughn's since they only have like 4.5 inches mount depth and can handle 1000 watts RMS.
