First of all i would like to say that their customer service sucks big time.... i talked to some asian fella two weeks ago trying to find out information about an RE HC10 (before i bought it) and all he could tell me is that it is discontinued and that he had no information at all on them.

Called them back today (after getting the woofer) and talked to a different guy who had even less of a clue, this dude had to put me on hold to ask one of their techs about the woofer and still couldnt tell me jack about them. 1st he tells me that i can fit it in a .5cft enclosure, so then i tell him that i kinda doubt that because the magnet is so huge so then he says that he will look up the specs on the SX and give me the specs for it. Finally after a lot of BS he gives me the "we dont have any information on that perticular sub because we only make very few of these" with that kind of answer it should be obvious that they would have some information on these because according to him they still make them but only for special purposes(dont ask me why he said that cause i thought they were discontinued)!

So anyways now that i got that out of my system does anybody know the box size that i should put this woofer in (RE HC10)? im leaning towards sealed (i was thinking about doing your basic square box and putting it between the seats of my truck "extended cab" right at about 1.0cuft) is this about right or do i need to go bigger for a sealed enclosure? and just out of curiousity what would be good for a ported box? if its not too large i may go for it.

Please help me out as i have no other way of finding anything out about this sub as you can see above!

they dont make that sub anymore.. why would they have any info.. they only made like 30 of them

RE makes great products... but I, just like you, have tried calling them for questions and the only things that the person on the other end of the phone knew was the price of the product and how to take my credit card.

I talked to that asian guy the other day. Michael. They make great products, and they did only make about 30 or so, so im not suprised. Most the calls that department recieves are sales, ,so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Highly doubt that as over the last two weeks in which i have been interested in them i have seen 3 sold on ebay! and just reading on here over 10 people have them so i guess they were all owned by 10 different people whom all happen to be regulars on this forum.... come on man lets stop trying to make escuses for these guys and just admit that their customer service is rediculously horrible and thats an understatement!!!!!

Once again no matter how many of them they made, if they sold them they should have information on them... and just so you all know, this guy may not know crap but he did say that they still make them for "special purposes" and ill believe him on that one just cause he actually works there!

Anyways all this bickering what about the box?

I agree, there is no excuse for them not being able to give you all the information you want about the driver. If the person answering the phones doesn't know, he should transfer you to someone who does.

How could their techs not know the specs on the subs they once sold? It is not like they put out 100's of different models of subs, someone there should be able to retain the specs on 20 or so subs... Idiots, that is idiotic.

For the rest of you who tried to make excuses for the company, that is stupid. What is the point of that, do you work for them? How could you think them not knowing about THEIR product can be excusable?

for real, how can u make somethin n just sell it with no specs, they had to have done tests on the stuff to kno what the sub is capable of, really ppl need to get off RE's d!ck, yea they make good products (so ive heard), but wtf if they cant help u out wit them?

I've never had any problems with RE customer service.....they answered all my questions pretty well. Not sure why they don't know their own specs though.

All the bad things I've been hearing about REs customer service recently is making me think twice about getting 2 12" SEs..

You're right, you should get the SX's instead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I'd love to but oddly enough, RE wants about $65 more per speaker which doesn't agree with my paycheck.
