my neighbor asked me to find him a sub setup for his golf. his budget is $250 but he might be a lil flexible. doesnt matter how many subs just as long as it fits in the hatch of his car. i would like to keep it above 400watts cont. what yall got?

mtx 8502 does 215 x 2 at 2ohms or 425-430 x 1 at 4 ohms, with a pair of resonant engineering 12" re series subs $160 shipped, let me know if your interested, i can get some more info and pics

The MTX is in good shape, it's missing the power and ground screw.

I have the original birth sheet on it

120 x 2 at 4ohms

215 x 2 at 2 ohms

That's supposed to be the actual watts at the test voltage of 12.5 volts.

the RE's are in good shape, one has some (a few 2-3" areas) glue on the outer foam beauty ring where the guy I got them from put them in the box before the carpet glue dried. The other one has a tad bit about 2 inches long. Other than that they look great and function just fine.

no, thats the problem. you cant set the gains anymore. the left channel's gains are between half way to 3/4 way up and the right is 3/4 way up and cant be moved. Its only stable in 4 ohm mono i believe

I can do $250 (+ ship of your choice) for JBL P180.2 (class A/B 180W RMS x2 @ 2 Ohm or 360W RMS slightly under-rated bridged x1 into 4 Ohm) and an MTX Thunder 7000 single 4 Ohm 10". Perfect match.

Amp has line-level and speaker-level inputs and auto on/off when using speaker level inputs for easy factory upgrade. Would make a great full-range 2 channel amp, for components, when it's time for upgrade.
