So I'm installing a stereo in a friends Yukon Denali. His remote wire got pinched by the seat. So system stopped working. I soldered another wire to it and reattached to the remote terminal. Amp turned on, but no sound. The power wire has an 80 amp fuse the amps have two 30's can this be a problem? I have 15 volts at the terminal of the amp. I have 12 volts at the terminal for the remote. The ground is good. The signal from the RCA cables is good. I think I've tested everything.
I hooked his RCA cables to my amp and and my sub thumped so I know the RCA signal is good.
I hooked his subs to my amp and they thumped, so subs are good.
Now i have power to both terminal for remote and main power wire but neither of our Amps work. For the ground we lifted carped dremeled down to bare metal, drilled hole and screwed ground in that way. I have even changed grounding points. This has to be a wiring gremlin and I'm out of ideas. Could it be the 80 amp fuse in main line is to much. Please help.
