Currently running an 18" MT in the 6ft^3 @ 35hz enclosure below...i'm gettin the urge to build a new enclosure soon and I'm looking for some suggestions...here's what I had in mind...

1) Glass the spare tire well and make a similar enclosure around 8 cubes

2) Front fire the sub and seal it off from the trunk

3) Upfire the sub with 2 6" aeroports front firing

Open to any other ideas...what should I do?

Front fire with COMPLETELY sealed off trunk and vent it right next to the sub. We do what we call "vented free-air" trunk setups using the trunk as the enclosure volume (guesstimated) and the vent size is based on that number. Basically the same sealing job as your normal but well executed infinite baffle then the baffle gets a large hole punched in it with some depth additions. If you choose to do this, make sure to brace around the sub with about 4" deep pieces of wood to keep the baffle from flexing like a retarded ape is beating its way out of your trunk. I'd make the baffle 2.25" thick for an 18" in an infinite baffle setup. We do them rather often, it's impressive what you can get out of them. Just don't open your deck lid with the system turned up; not bright!
