Need some sub advice

Hey i was wondering, i have 2 power acoustik fubr-12's (had em for about a year and a half), and i was wondering 2 things

#1: when i hook them up should i hook them up as a 2 ohm load or a 4 ohm load (it has dual 4 ohm voice coils, so does that mean that i have to hook it up to my amp and wire the sub as 2 ohms?)

#2: I have them hooked up to my fosgate amp as a 2 ohm load (hopefully thats right or i've been doin it wrong for a long time) which gives out 300wrms to each sub, now seeing as these are 800wrms am i really losing alot of potential bass? (they are loud but i havent really heard many other systems) If this is a stupid way to have these hooked up what are some good subs that i can get for that wattage (in a decent price range, $200-300 for both) that will sound better and hit harder?

decado, you can only run those subs with a 4ohm load or a 1ohm load.

1) is that amp you have 1ohm stable (what model is it)?

2) are you not satisfied with the production of your subs?

these are some healthy alternatives to your subs that will run fine off of your amp at 2ohms (w/one yr warranty):

these are also 4ohm drivers (like, but relatively better than the ones you own) and can only be configured in 4 and 1 ohm.

if your amp is not one ohm stable, then it is plausible that you have been pushing your subs with less than 300 watts at 4ohms (but rf are seriously underated anyway).

so, basically you might want to get a new amp and not subs, depending on what amp (model?) you have, and if you're cool w/the subs u have.

Well, isnt a dual 4 ohm voice coil supposed to be run at 2 ohms? I dont have them wired in parrallel, i have them each on a separate channel.
