need some quick help

lookin to purchase a couple of Eclipse SW9122. just wondering if you guys recommend sealed or ported. id be getting 2 12's can put round 850watts to each. and where can i get a good deal for them, the dealer located near me has rediculously high prices on everything so that would be my last resort. any suggestions are welcome

You can run the Ti's in either type enclosure, sealed or vented. Both can be fairly compact also, about 0.5-0.75ft^3 internal sealed or 1.5-2.0ft^3 vented for the 12They will be extremely tight in the sealed box but the low end will be somewhat lacking. The vented boxes will have about 5db more output from 80Hz and down to 25Hz but will be very peaky just above tuning. For a street bass box, the vented is the way to go. If space is at a premium, go sealed. Either way the sub will need a fair amount of power, about 1000Wrms seems to do the trick.

As far as pricing goes, most authorized Eclipse dealer will be selling these at MAP. which is $599.99 a piece. It is a bit high but if you are buying a pair, they should cut you a deal, like maybe pay for the tax or save you money on an enclosure. You can also chance ebay but beware of refurbs and b-stock.
