need some personal experiences or insight on re mx subs

I was planning on one good 18 inch sub for around 4 500 but I got offered 2 12 inch re mx never been mounted for 500...

What do u guys think I plan on a custom box for either and I have a sundown saz 2500d anp to power the subs I know ill be underpowering them aince there rated at 1500 rms each

My electrical ia ok but gonna add another batterie I have one yellow top an 200+ alternator

2 12s is less cone area then one 18?

yes you are correct but the 18 will hit lower and maybe even louder

1 18 has 254 sq. inches of cone and 2 12s have 224 inches of cone....

Area of a circle = pi * r^2 . Still I'd go with the MX's assuming they wire to a good impedence for you, two 4" coils will handle thermal power long term far better than a single 3" coil.

If you're just burping with it you'll probably do better with a single 18

It happens when you do pi * r^2 * number of woofers (roughly, even though Sd is effective cone area).

2 12's= 226.19448

1 18= 254.46879

That's a 28.27431 difference.

after 06 = junk
