Need some Party Speakers

Well I finally moved into an apartment and I'm looking for some heavy duty take a beating type speakers that I can purchase. I was contemplating building my own but I just decided to buy some PA speakers. Obviously they have to get loud .

I've already looked into buying some of Mackie's entry line or some Cerwin Vegas. I just need some real input from people with experience.

As far as budget goes, I'm a college student and bang for your buck is what I'm looking for.

Oh yea, recommend some stores as well.

I've gone to agiprodj.com and talked to them, very nice people.

Find some beater Klipsch Heresy's they are efficient, get really loud with very little power, sound really clean and clear, and can take a punishing and replacement parts are relatively cheap. Check some of the older used Klipsch Pro Series offerings as well.

just get some used EV's or JBL monitors, I had a couple of the JBL monitor lines with the 15" PA loudspeakers in them, and they were friggn loud as hell. I used them for a couple of raves I threw a few years ago and worked great.

yeah....i got two pairs of old floor speakers from a pawn shop for $20 a pair....combine that with a $40 receiver off ebay and a dayton 120 sub combo from parts express and your good to go

Everywhere else... Maybe if you get lucky and love to dump a bunch of watts on them with a excruciatingly harsh horn...
