need some opinions on new amp

Tough decision. I would probably go with the DB Drive amp also... Even though the PA is 400 watts more, the DB should be pretty close to that if you have strong electrical, being that is unregulated and can handle up to 16V. Planet Audio generally isn't regarded as the highest of quality gear either..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
right now my electrical is a stock 105 amp alt redtop starter and hc2000 in the rear and i hve a tc12100s i can toss in the rear also .... im still unsure because i see alot of people have issues with the db

It depends on what kind of issues they were having? How was the amp installed? Proper wiring, electrical, etc? See where I'm going with this..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif We have people on this forum who don't have adequate electrical and burn up brand-name amps or other well regarded amps also. Same with setting gains.

That is one issue with going refurbished. Other components on the board could've been stressed and close to failure. When someone repairs an amp, they generally only replace the components that are failing and maybe a few other components in the chain for good measure. Other times its just a cosmetic issue or a return and the company sells it as "refurbished".

yeah but with my electrical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif i really want it but im still shy

hey tony, i've seen the db drive amps like you want in competition ,eeh ok i guess.heard mixed feelings on the planet audio amp, some same great for the price and some say not so good.personally if i were you ,i'd just look at ratings .the planet audio looks ok but i cant find any efficiency ratings ,which concerns me.100 db rating is pretty good tho.but i did find an efficiency rating for the new db drive okur ams at 85% at 4 ohms which is good.me i'd get the db drive i think.planet audio amps just dont seem to do anything for me,thats if i had no other choice .

how did those db drive amps do i the lanes like as far as heat generation/ohm load/electrical... buddy of mine had 2 bb2400s strapped at 1 ohm and dropped to 11.8 with a yellowtop in the rear rest all stock

sorry im not wasting my money on that amp. No im not saying it just to say it i know plenty of team ss members with them and have fooled with a few.
What did you hear bad about SS? I'm a SS nuthugger but use mostly the old equipment....I heard the new rubicon amps were supposed to be nearly as good as the originals.

what you might wanna do is find out what happened to blow up the amp,and see if there is any kind of warranty.then if you get it ,open it up and see if you can tell what was burnt or failed.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/idea.gif.5acb6a39a9b92425414c316dda202bad.gif

the rubis and dtr dont do rated but the dtr is closer to rated and more efficient. the rubis are 500w off and less efficient
