sue me, its a ford.
I'm considering getting a student loan (just finished paying for my first mistake...)to go back for business this fall. I've got a good friend who i've known since we were 10, and hes also contemplating going back for business. Our goal is to open a small shop in 4-6 years. I've already went 2 years for I.T. and Electrical engineering, but EE wasn't what i was expecting, it was boring, all about efficiency, etc. I'm also pretty good with statistics. What classes should i take to learn more about electrical design (I've read alot about amplifiers, got the basics already) and how components work? Thats what I really wanted to go for my first time. What other classes would prepare me for our business plan? Thanks for any input.

Just to give you some insight, I sit on the Board of Directors at my company and I have over a thousand employees, and and have to deal with countless regulations and laws and bylaws just to run my company. I will say this with the utmost respect and concern, please give a business plan a go. You really need to work out a good business plan and be as realistic as possible. I believe you can do it, but being prepared for actual costs, will either make you or break you. I think Arkansas could really use a good shop, and if you are willing to go back to school to get the knowledge you need, I can tell your serious, and the Car Audio business could use a good guy like you.

As for classes, you will usually have an option with school to pick a couple elective credits and take what you want. I would go to a school that has a fabrication type class and maybe an upholstery type class too. There are definitely not enough fabricators or upholsterers out there, and that will give you a step ahead of other shops.

Thanks alot for the info. I doubt a shop would succeed in my rural area, we plan on relocating to the springdale/fayetteville area for the shop venture. As far as upholstery, my buddies mom is an expert, im sure she could teach me a thing or two to get me started.

I've seen younger with cellphones. Better than mine.

I blame the parents....spoiling their rotten children.

being a parent myself, it's how you raise your kids. My 16 year old got her phone when her grades improved. So 15, I gave her my old smartphone.
