Need some input on installing system

Okay, I dont know much about audio stuff but i know enough to get by. I have two 1000watt Volfenhag subs (not the best i know) and also a Boss RIP896 2000watt amplifier (again i know not the best)... However for some reason after asking some people and reading somethings I cant get the system to produce a decent sound. (2008 Ford Focus) I have spliced the audio wires from my back two speakers that way the sub woofers have sound and then I have the subs hooked up to the amp, as far as i know, perfectly... If i have one input (for example from the left speaker) into the amp, the one sub woofer has a decently loud sound to it. However when the other input is in the subs barely produce sound at all. My question is, is wtf am I not doing correctly?

When you say you have the wires spliced into the two back speakers what do you mean? Are you using a LOC, does your amp have a high input option, are there any RCA's being used? First let's start there to see how the amp is getting its signal.

i have rca cables cut and spliced.. then the other end of the rca connection is connected to the rca inputs.. as for the high inputs im pretty sure it does but the speculations of the amp are here http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2085_Boss+RIP-896+Ripper+Series.html

Are you saying that you have RCAs cut and spliced into the rear speaker wire?

oh boy

You need to use the high level inputs on the amp.... you can connect your speaker wires directly to those pins instaed of using some rigged RCA splice.

Well you need a "line output converter"

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142SLC4/Scosche-SLC4.html?tp=2001 (this is a cheap one, you might be able to find a better one at the Circuit City by the Florida mall)

and basicly you would splice speaker wire into your two rear speakers and run those wires into the converter which will convert your speaker wire (high level) signal into a RCA output (low level).

His BOSS amp has high level inputs

wow o wow....just get a loc. It will convert the speaker signal from high to low.
