need some help with sub gain setting

i have read through the gain tutorial and i still have some questions left that wasnt answered.

1) i have an alpine pdx 1.600 and i cant turn off the LPF on it. I would rather use the LPF on my headunit than on the amp. How would i turn off the LPF in the amp and use the headunit LPF? do i turn the LPF on the amp all the up to 200hz?

2) i have an IDQ 12 v.3 and i was wondering what test tone should i use to set the gain. is 60 hz at 0db good? any other suggestions?

3) What should my LPF be around? 60-80 hz?

4) what order should i set each one. Do i set the gain first, then the LPF, and then the Subsonic filter(i have a ported box 1.9 @ 28 hz)?

thanks,

k.s

turn the lpf all the way up and gain all the way down... set it at the head unit(63 or 80hz)... turn head unit to 2/3 max volume... slowly increast the gain until you get the first hint of distortion, then back off just a little... you're set.

the dmm method is flawed. you'll never see the potential of the amp since music never approaches a 0db or even -6db tone. use your ears.
