need some help with some amp and wiring issues please!

i have a Sony XM-ZZR3301 amp connected to some sony subs as well. Ok so i have all the wires connected correctly i am assuming but for some reason the amp doesn't turn on. The weird thing is that when i connect the positive cord from the battery to the positive AND remote wiring it turns on. Also when i turn the car off the amp doesnt turn on. I know i shoudnt be like that but thats the only way the blue light of the amp turns on. However the subs dont work while the amp is on in that way. i would appreciate any help! thanks

sounds like your remote is wired wrong.

well the remote blue wire is hooked up to the blue and white cord behind the head unit and on the amp remote place

Are you sure your remote wire isnt hooked into the "power antenna" blue wire? Some radios have a solid blue for remote, and blue with white stripe for power antenna...or vice-versa.

im pretty sure its hooked up to the remote. it even has a label that says remote wiring only. im thinking the amp is bad

I would take a multi meter and check the voltage of the remote wire. It should read 12v when the car is on and the radio is on. If it doesnt, the remote wire is bad, or you have it hooked up to the wrong wire. You stated that having the power wire hooked up to the remote connection turned the amp on, that tells me that its something on the remote wire side.

got the amp to turn on ha. apperently my remote wire was bad so i got told to hook it up to the red one behind the head unit? didnt know that. now i cant get the sub to turn on. great
