Alright i have a 1968 mustang coupe im rebuilding and im going to put a custom system in when im done i am buying a treo SSX 12" today and i have a treo RSX 1900 and its going in a custom ported box with 2 gauge wire. I need to figure out if i need to upgrade my alternator to power it i do not know what the stock 1968 coupe alternator runs but im looking now. I want to know if i need to upgrade the alternator and what to upgrade it to and if i need a seperate 2nd battery and if so what size? Also if anyone can find it how many amps the stock 1968 mustang coupe runs, its the 302 not the 289, if someone can it would be a big help. Thanks everyone

That thing has like a 50-60 amp alt with an external regulator. You need to upgrade it to an internally regulated style and there are how-to's online on rewiring the car for it as well. I would go to Jegs and get a dual battery box and relocator kit to put them in the trunk. Also, upgrade (big 3) all the accompanying wires. That thing is going to BUZZ BAD fyi. Where do you plan on putting the 12 at?
