i got 2 jbl 1200.1's and a us acoustics 4085, with both 0 and 4 gauge wiring and an optima red top under the hood......

i desperately need to upgrade my alt. which is stock and gives out 105amps

should i upgrade to a 160 amp alternator which would be alot easier for me to have done or will i need more than that, a 200amp alternator??

let me know what u think

thanks

will 160 work though?

cause i go to school in less than a week and i wont get a 200 by then and that means i cant take my truck up to schoiol

2 1200.1's...that is gonna be ******* MASS current...like...even when they're not peaked out...they will prolly be drawing **** near 160 amps themselves. DEFINITELY go with the 200 amp alternator...keep the red top under the hood and i'd also by a yellow top and hook it up as ur secondary battery. then you'd be very set as far as ur electrical system. BUT, lose the cap...sell it and get the yellow top...lol. peace

u SHOULD go with the 200a because 1200.1's **** mad current. But i think youd be fine with the 160 and a red top and yellow top. and u could keep the cap after that but u shouldnt be using it now. What about getting a 180amp or something if u couldnt gett the 200amp in time
