Hey i have been having a problem matching up my amps with my subs... at first i bought 2 12'' Kicker L7's 4-ohms and tried to run each of them on its own seperate MCD1000.1 memphis amp and was told that i was only gettin half the power that these subs can handle due to the amps being 1000rms at 1ohm.... so i went out and switched up my subs for 2-ohm 12's which are also dual voice coil... should this solve my problem by giving me the correct power to give me the sound i am looking for??

Dual 2 Ohm coils would allow you to drop the Ohms seen by the amp down to 1Ohms if each speaker is wired to its own amp. You have to run a wire to the positive terminals on each side of the coil and then continue the wire to the positive channel on your amp. Do the exact same thing with the negative terminals on the sub continuing a wire from negative to negative on the coil and on to the negative channel on your amp. Same goes for both subs. Then you will draw the full potential of your amps/subs.

So you think that my set-up will now make me get more from the amps... because yes i have two of these memphis amps one for each subwoofer.. the way i understand it is.. with 2-ohm subs i can wire them down to 1-ohm which would be perfect because my amp runs full 1000rms at 1-ohm???
