I'm looking to do a modest system more oriented in sq. I'm looking for a set of 6.5 components that will be powered by an old school jl 300/4. I want something different as far as brand. Not the mainstream Rockford, kicker, alpine etc. I wanted to try a 3 way but speaker placement for the mid will be a bit of an issue for where i originally wanted to place it. So I've decided to save stress and money, I'll just stick with a nice 2 way set. Vehicle is a 2006 F 150. Budget I would say no more than 4-500 max. Not opposed to buying someone's used in good condition equipment. My musical taste have changed since ive aged so something good for Jazz, Orchestra with some rock thrown in here and there. Anyway, throw out some suggestions that will work with that amp and my budget. Thanks in advance

My son has these in his Ranger and they sound really good.

According to the site, It doesn't fit the truck. I'm gonna assume it's because of the tweeter size vs the factory hole?

It's because your factory speaker size is a 6x8. This is a 6.5. You will have to get a plate to fit it and you will have to make the tweeter hole bigger. If you get a component set, the only speaker that will fit perfectly is a 6x8/5x7. You might have to trim the tweeter hole for just about any tweeter.

CDT makes really good drivers. Considering the performer vs price it's hard to beat them without digger deeper into your wallet 😂
