need some computer help ASAP

ok i need some help with my computer. i built my computer about 3 weeks ago, and i had installed a copy of windows home edition i had laying around until i had the money to buy professional. well i bought professional this morning, and i'm having some problems now. i thought that when i installed the new os that i'd have all of my old programs via my hard drive, but a lot of my stuff is not coming up. and when i check the local disc its saying i only have 120gb, when my hard drive is 320gb. im not going to have to install everything again am i?

maybe something with the partition(sp) you install over home edition or created a new partition

Yea you installed on a partition. I would just get rid of the partition or install the pro on the partition with home edition.

should have chose the upgrade option not the new install one. format and start again?

you should delete all the partitions and install fresh.. upgrading an OS over another isnt really a good idea, better to wipe clean and start over fresh.

Delete all partitions. (recreate ONE if your using Fdisk) or windows will recreate it for you. It will format, them install.

I think your computer is going emo on you. Yes, you need to do a clean install. (format and reinstall)

Basically boot your computer with the XP CD in the drive, and press any key when it says "Press any key to boot from CD". From there it's pretty damn easy.
