Need Some Clarification on Subs Wiring/Amp/Speakers

Hello. Quick question - i have the opportunity to buy a nice customer made sub box for my dodge challenger, 2 alpine sws 10d2 dual voice coil 2 ohm 500 rms each subs and a kicker 11dx200.4 200 rms 2-ohm stable amp (25 x 4 at 4 ohms, 50 x 4 at 2 ohms and 100 x 2 bridged at 4 oms) for about $150 or so. I don't need other equipment suggestions, just wondering what my best wiring option is to:

- just use the whole amp for the 2 subs

- use the amp for the 2 subs and either 2 or 4 car speakers (if possible)

Please let me know, im a little confused about ohms, etc. at this point in my car audio knowledge.

id probably use that amp to power all my doors, and then id get a real mono amp to power the subs. sure 200w will make the subs play, but a real mono amp that does 500w RMS will sound 10x better

Ya use that amp for door speakers and get a nice 500-1000watt mono for woofers

you should be able to find a 500w-1000w RMS mono amp for around $150

Quick question though - im trying to save money and am getting a new head unit too. Im assuming i can run the door and dash speakers off the head unit and still use this kicker amp for the subs, correct? Even if the amp isnt "ideal" would it still do a decent job for the subs?

You can, but it's not going to be what you expect. I guess for a temporary thing it'd work if you wired the subs to their own channels at 4ohms bridged. The difference between a properly amplified setup and one that's underpowered is night and day. Take your time saving up money if you have to.

I guess it'd be better to ask what your goal is. There's going to be a definite improvement if you add the sub and amp, I just know when I was in your situation it didn't end up being enough lol.

So essentially, i almost dont even need the kicker amp. Good head unit can run the speakers and just get a new mono amp for the subs.

You could but might as well pick it up and throw your inside speakers on it they will sound alot better and louder

Awesome. Any suggestions on a good but budget friendly mono amp to drive those 2 alpine dual coil 2 ohms subs? Maybe precision power or kenwood? Im also assuming 4 gauge wire would be more than enough.
