The Polks are gonna be the way to go, within your budget,and the JBL if you can spare the extra.Thus my opinion.

I bought some Massive VK6 I believe they were, that a few said were fantastic speakers,and I bought to try out,and put 30rms of power on them, and they lasted about 2 weeks..I myself wouldnt buy any Massive products.

Didn't realize that Powerbass/Massive Audio were one and the same. I think the JBL's are a little out of the price range that I want to spend and still be able to afford a good head unit, so it will probabl fall back to the Polks'

I just pulled out a set of the DB 651 from the front in my Chevy Truck, and put in some CDT Briaxl 6.5,and Polk MM 100rms old school 5.25 woofers, and CDT 1in tweets running @2ohms @ 140rms per side..kept up with 4-1k tens,and did a great job on the mids,with a bass cap

Not sure about the Powerbass, they seem to have a decent cone, pivoting silk tweeter, but low sensitivity (which is a little iffy).

Shop CDT Audio - COX-622

I really like the sound that CDT have..thes are refurbs, and at a decent price, I just had a scratch on mine on one tweet,barely noticable

I've been wanting some CDT's for a long time after hearing my friend's component set. Although, I think for now I will just grab a pair of the Polks and possibly the kenwood kdc-448u

Cant go wrong with the polks..Ive had a few Kenwood HU,and JVC,and never enjoyed them..seem to have never lasted for me.Always had fading issues,buttons going out ect.Never had an issue with that sony hu..I currently use Eclipse CD8455,and CD3000,Clarions are not too bad either.Havent had a Pioneer since the early 90s when they were Supertuners,and looking at the PRS80s
