This is my setup and i need advice to see if i need a capacitor or not.

2001 toyota avalon xl

2 Type r's 1222d

Kicker zx1000

Kenwood double din headunit

This is my first system and the people at the electronics store said that i need a cap but i cannot be sure.

I dont know how to do the big three upgrade.

My question: Do i need a capacitor and if i dont have one will my lights be dim?

i think it gives out 80 amps stock and with the car on it is between 13.5-14.5V

just drop a second battery into the car, use an isolator to wire the alternator to battery 1 and 2, you will then be fine. This will give you the max amount of avaible power for your subs, your lights wont dim at all if you do this, caps **** balls:boink:

but wont adding a second battery make the alternator work harder?

not with an isolator, i have a car battery and my optima battery running off the stock alternator with an isolator and ive been fine for months now. (my amp is 1300 Watts)

that does sound good but how much will this cost cuz i am extemely tight on money, like i only have a spare $50.

meh, u cant get a second battery setup for that, you are looking at around $200 for the battery, isolator, and wires to run it all....

Like i said earlier, its not cheap, but if you upgrade later, you will be very very happy you did this first.....

MONEY WELL SPENT
