Need some advice how to set up my Alpine system pleeease!?

Im no expert when it comes to this but im fairly sure what im doing up until now.... so, i have:

2 x Alpine component speakers SPR-60C 6.5" 330W with 110rms, 4 Ohm

1 x Alpine V12 High Power Amplifier:[/b][/b]

RMS Power Rating:

125 watts x 4 chan. @ 4 ohms

250 watts x 2 chan. (Ch 3-4 Only) @ 2 ohms

500 watts x 1 chan. (Ch 3-4 Only) @ 4 ohms Bridged

1 x Alpine SWR-12D2

Type-R 12" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils 300-1,000 watts RMS (500 watts per coil)

Im happy that i can wire my 2 components to channels 1&2 and receive a stereo signal (im aware that i must reduce my amp so i dont over power the components).

My question is... how do i wire the subwoofer? or what is the best way to wire my subwoofer? im thinking i need to bridge 3&4 and feed it to my subwoofer? im confused about the Ohms, is this safe for my amplifier? my main aim is for clarity and balance (not just distorted mess!)

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

wire the sub in series to give the amp a 4ohm load and you will be good to go.

Thanks for the reply. Should i wire it as shown in the attachment? thats channels 3&4 together right?

Yeah, wire it in series as you see in that pic.. Those two free wire ends should be the positive of channel 3 and the negative of channel 4 to bridge the amp. The fronts just wire as normal.

if once coil equals 500rms, does this mean my amp will not be powerful enough to power the dvc with an output of 1000rms?? this is bad for my amp surely??

Your amp will be fine just means the sub won't be used to its full potential

and I dont like to use the jumpers that are supplied with the type r. Just use 12ga to make the jumpers.
