I'm new to car audio and don't know much. I would like get some new speakers and an amp to power a mtx sub I got from a friend. I already have an aftermarket head unit. Its a Clarion DZX575.

I would like some advice on what speakers I should get and amp. I'm looking to spend maybe around $400-700, but want to keep cost low if possible.

My 96 Integra has 6.5" round speakers in both the front doors and rear side panels.

I already have a 10" MTX sub that my friend gave me, but don't know the model or any specs on it.

have you taken the sub out to look on the magnet to see if mtx put the model # and voice coil config on it? usually there is a sticker for that. it would help you in determining what amp would be best for you.

It may actually be 12 ohms. I believe mtx made the triple sub boxes and doesn't 3 single 12ohm subs wire to 4 ohms? I used to have a jl audio 12w0 single 12 ohm that came from the jl triple box.

oh yeah I forgot to mention that my friend gave me three of these MTX 10" subs in the triple sub boxes also, but I didn't want or have room for all three. Is it possible to just run one of the 10" sub or do you guys suggest getting a new one?

I've been doing some research and ran across the PG RSd65cs 6.5" component set for the front. Heard really good reviews about them and they can be had for pretty cheap.

Its rated at 60 watts rms.

Now I don't know what my 10" MTX sub is rated at. Is there a way to find out? Also what amp would you guys recommend to use the front channels for the comps and bridge the rear channel for the sub?

The pg components will handle more than 60. I am using a rockford fosgate p450.4 that puts out 103x4 @4ohms. So I am sending my phoenix gold rsd components 100 watts each. Also I have the other 2 channels on my amp bridged to a single 10" sub. The sub is seeing around 300 watts rms bridged on channel 3&4.
