Need Simple Question Answered

I know this might sound stupid but I am very new to the world of audio and I would like a question answered. A lot of the monoblock amplifiers have 2 outputs for speakers, 2 pos and 2 neg. And I have 2 subs so that is convenient. So for instance if the amp spec reads as= at 4 ohms 450 watts x 1

Does this mean that if i am running two subs at 4 ohms, that it will push 450 watts out of each output? Or would that be 225 watts out of each output? I just want to know if my subs would be sharing that 450 watts or that would be to each one.

If you were running 2 subs it'd be 225 watts to each sub

you have your monoblock idea wrong... normally its one channel. and they only have one positive and one negative terminal. i dont think ive ever seen an amp with 2 of each

look at brz 1700.1d they have 2 pos and neg, you drop the subs ohm load to 2 ohm and wire to each channel and the amp will bring it down to 1 ohm, this is convenience so if you have 2 sealed subs you can drop the ohm load from the amp.

so Op is correct and yes you will see 225w per sub

Some Mono amps DO have 2 speaker outputs, I'm selling one that does as a matter of fact, just because it has two speaker outputs does NOT mean it is a stereo amp ;-)

Every single one I have owned has had dual inputs, its a convenience thing. Both inputs are fused on the inside.

Some Mono amps DO have 2 speaker outputs, I'm selling one that does as a matter of fact, just because it has two speaker outputs does NOT mean it is a stereo amp ;-)

i know some of them do, but normally they run with one channel to keep the amp running cooler

OP do you mean each sub is 4ohms or that you have it wired to 4ohm, that will make a difference.
