2005 suburban dual batteries vs dual alternators

I have a 2005 suburban it has a 160 amp alt stock. It has a 6 month old interstate battery That is not that great

I was thinking of getting the factory second battery tray and getting a die hard platinum and putting the interstate as the secondary battery in the passenger side tray. I will not be putting a battery inside as I don't want to lose any more space.

Option 2 is getting a dc power power dual alt kit with a 185 amp alt coupled with the 160 I already have this seems to be a better idea to me but I don't know

First of all, drop the factory batteries alltogether i say, Get a good deep cell and drop another near your amps, if you dont have room then have a good battery under the hood and get the dual alternators. however unless your drawing that much current then it may not even be necessary to even do so.

I have a Rockford t1000bdcp. And I will be adding another 100-150x4. My voltage drops to 11.9 with the ac on and the stereo going

So I think I'm drawing more than my 160 amp can at idle above 1500rPm it will rise to 14.3

160 amp and a deep cell battery will do the trick. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you need to do the big 3 and that will prob solve all your dropping voltage problems.

DEFINITELY do the big 3... with o gauge, get a deep cell battery, you will be golden!
