Greetings - brand new here. First post!
Need your advice on a system for my project car.
A bit on me - total car nut. Daily is a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and my toy/weekend/track car is a Lotus Elise. I know the 'lightweight' purists hate audio trickery in them, but I drive the car 15K miles a year and need my tunes. I put in a new system last year - Kenwood Excelon double din with bluetooth, etc. 4" Focals up front, 6.5" JL in back. JL Stealthbox. Alpine PDX5 amp. Rear view camera. It's great.
Now on the my question. I purchased a 1969 Mini Moke. It's a totally open (no doors/no top) beach buggy type car and soooo much fun. I'm doing a resto mod on it this winter. Looking to ad a basic inexpensive system with simple ipod connectivity for tunes. Nothing crazy. Keep in mind car is completely open so NO security whatsoever.
I need recommendations on a full system. Here's what I'm planning.
Basic head unit with CD/ipod.
4" speakers in new dash panel
6.25" or 6x9 in custom floor 'fascia' underneath front seat facing rear seats.
Powered Amp ala a Bazooka BTA6100 in a 'box' that I'll fab in the 'trunk' area behind the seats. Box will be covered and will contain the sub on one side and open on the other side for storage.
No amp.
I'm open to any all suggestions. Don't really have a budget, but don't want to spend a ton of money as it's just a novelty/toy car that's only driving in perfect weather. Thinking maybe $100 for HU, $200 for speakers, $150 for sub - so maybe $500 all in.
Any and all feedback is welcome.
Thx!
