So after looking at too many subs I think I've found the one I want. But before I make my decision, I need some opinions from people who have heard the sub and/or know about the real life performance of the sub...basically how it sounds in terms of SQ and SPL.

I plugged the sub into WinISD and got the below graphs for a vented and a closed enclosure. In a vented box it hits 28 Hz at -3dB when tuned to 19.84 Hz ...in closed it hits 36 Hz at -3dB. The SPL of both subs is between 108 and 115 between 20 and 50 Hz when giving the sub 500W RMS. So the technical data looks good...better or as good as an IDMAX or OZ Matrix Elite with 700W to each. Thanks in advance.

They are very good subs. Low distortion and decent output.

I wouldn't classify it as the best sub ever.....but definitely a good sub at a great price. One of the better values out there.

i'm running the 15 off 1000 watts in a 4.5~ cube at 20 hz, and it is tear inducing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its a pretty good driver for the price. I ran one for HT duty in 3.5 ft^3 tuned to ~19hz and it worked great. Pretty respectable output and sounded nice with music as well. The IDMax and OZ will outdisplace it by about 20-25%...

I'm currently using it in my new truck in about .9 ft^3 sealed and its just OK... gonna stick it in about 1.8 tuned to 28hz and see how it does.

Really? I made this thread after plugging in the OZ, IDMAX, and MKIII into WinISD. Giving the OZ and IDMAX 700W, the MKIII had higher SPL with 500W.

In a 1 cu ft closed box that I would most likely get, the IDMAX was louder by 2-3 dB until 50Hz. 2-3dB is 20-30% louder. The OZ was just around the MKIII. After 50 Hz, the MKIII is louder. At 20 Hz the MKIII is 3 dB louder than the IDMAX and 6 dB louder than the OZ. So since you say the IDMAX is louder...does that mean that the 50Hz+ range is that signficant where it outweighs the loudness of the MKIII below 50Hz?

In a 2 cu ft vented box, the same thing is seen after 40 Hz...but even more exaggerated.

The biggest difference imo is that the MKIII hits MUCH MUCH lower than the other two subs. More than 4 hz lower in a closed box and 6 in a vented box. These numbers are what I see at -3dB.

Am I being too technical and number oriented about this? It seems like the OZ doesn't like small boxes, while the IDMAX is much better about small boxes. The MKIII also seems to be good in smaller boxes...this matters to me as I have a tC and that's not a lot of trunk to play with. Thanks for the responses guys.
