need opinions on a system

Well it will be in my trunk and in a dual ported box that I already own... and do you mean 1,200 RMS watts? The type Rs are 500 RMS watts... and i don't have any clue what im talking about if you haven't noticed...

And how much wattage/RMS watts does that amp put out? It doesn't seem to be audio noob friendly specs on that site. And would that be better than two m500s?
The AQ1200D is rated for 1,200 watts rms @ 1 ohm.

Buy two 4 ohm dual voice coil Type R's, have a proper enclosure built for them, and let someone that knows what they're doing set the gain on the amp.

The Type R subs can take the power.

I'm assuming you have a prefab subwoofer enclosure. You don't want to use that. Have an enclosure built specifically for the Type Rs. The enclosure is of the utmost importance...

I'm confused... so the 1222D type Rs are 2 ohms but wont wire at 2ohms? and the 1242D type Rs 4ohms can be wired at 2 ohms? this shit is confusing.
One 4 ohm dvc sub can be wired to either 2 or 8 ohms

One 2 ohm dvc sub can be wired to either 1 or 4 ohms

Two 4 ohm dvc subs can be wired to either 1 or 4 ohms

Two 2 ohm dvc subs can be wired to either .5, 2 or 8 ohms

It's not that complicated, man. You just need to do a little reading to get familiar with things. Just wait until you learn about wiring 4 or more subs together to a single 1 channel amp...

if i were doing what i was thinking at first i'd have to get the 1242d type r (4 ohms) if i wanted to wire them individually to the amp to get the 500watt rms power right? even tho i'm using two mrp-m500s i wont be actually wiring the subs together which would make getting the 1222d pointless right?

If you buy two MRP-M500s, which is stupid, you'd want to buy 4 ohm dvc subs.

2x Alpine MRP-M500's = $289.90 at the cheapest place I can find online

The Audioque AQ1200D = $250 directly from the manufacturer.....and it's more powerful than both Alpines combined.

Buy the Audioque and two 4 ohm dvc Type Rs. Then have someone build a proper enclosure for the subs. And finally, let someone knowledgeable set up the amp.

So without a dout in your mind this amp is better than those two? Does it ever overheat? or have any known issues? I just don't want faulty shit... Does it come with a warranty?

The AQ is a very, very good amp. There's absolutely no reason to buy two 500 watt amps that cost more than a single 1,200 watt amp. A ton of guys on the forum run Audioque equipment in much nicer builds than what you're wanting to do, and none of them are complaining.

If you want to know about Audioque's warranty, visit their webiste and click the tab at the top that says WARRANTY. It'll contain everything you need to know. While you're visiting the site, take a look at the SDC2.5 subwoofers as well. A pair of them will do quite nicely on the AQ1200D, and they're very affordable. You obviously wanted matching equipment anyway, so what do you have to lose?

Im running 2 of the audioque 2200d's on a single sub. They never get more than slightly warm and thats VERY rarely. Audioque makes a good product sub or amp. If you are looking for a good amp id go with the audioque over anything. Sub wise unless you want to be another one of the crowd and pay for a name I'd swap to an audioque sub as well.

Thats just my 2 cents.

I was in your shoes not too long ago man, didnt know what to do or what to get. I jus winged it with a budget system, dont get me wrong, I'm very pleased with the out come of my cheap set up. If I were to do it over, some funky pup subs and about 2 sony amps to each. Slam on!

definitly gonna go with the audioQ and with it paired with the type rs will it bump?? shit is driving me insane. i noticed the AQ subs and they are slightly more powerful than the type rs but it would take a little while longer to get the money... would it really matter between the type rs and the street style aq subs?

The Type R is a nice subwoofer. I just mentioned the SDC2.5's because I thought you wanted matching equipment.

Be sure to buy 4 ohm dvc subs.

You need to start thinking about component speakers and a multi channel amp as well. Seeing as you'll be using the AQ1200D for your subs, you might as well pick up the AQ4x90 for some components...

Well i'm definitly gonna roll with the AQ1200D, but now i'm still contemplating on what speakers would be a perfect match... I noticed the SDC2.5's are 600watt RMS which is a perfect match for the 1,200watt RMS amp. Are there any other speaker out there that slam really good paired up with the AQ1200D?
