Ok I'm planning on buying two Alpine SWR-1242D 12" Type-R Series Subwoofers and two Alpine MRP-M500 amps. The subs are 500 watt RMS max and the mono amp can power up to 500 watt RMS if 2ohms. My question is will this shit bump loud as hell? I have a bmw 328i and it will be in the trunk. I already have the rockford fosgate amp wire kit that goes to my trunk where my batterey is located... also will I need two of those kits since I will be having two amps now or is there something that can split that and goto the both of them? I want something that is loud as shit that will only run me about $550... Also would I need a capacitor? Let me know. Thanks.

i thought i could wire those subs as 2ohm? and i read that the m1000 overheats alot and i read other peoples reviews about the m500 never heating at all...
A pair of 2 ohm dvc subs can be wired to 2 ohms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

If you're worried about the MRP-M1000 overheating, why not buy this instead? Audioque: Amps: AQ1200D

bro... I said I thought the Alpine SWR-1242D 12" Type-R Series could be wired at 2ohms.... And like i said im trying to stay under a $550 dollar budget so if thats a high dollar amp I don't want to go for it.

I just realized theres the Alpine SWR-1222D 12" Type-R Series which is 2 Ohms... So I should get those and a pair of Alpine MRP-M500 to fully max them out? I want them to have there own amp so that there isn't two speakers heating up a amp and only one. Will I need two amp kits for two amps?

you have many things to learn young grass hopper... go to Audioque and go to order and purchase 2 sdc2.5 12 dual 4 subs and a aq 1200.1 you will be very pleased and the coolest of all your friends i guarentee it

I cant even find a place to buy that amp... Is 4ohms better than 2ohms? Why wouldn't I want to get two type rs and two m500s? it matches the rms watts perfectly....
- Buy the amp right here: Audioque: ORDER Audioque has a very good reputation.

- One "ohm" isn't better than the other. Subwoofers come in multiple voice coil configs to give people wiring options.

- Why would you want to use 2 amps when you can get the same exact results with one?

- You don't have to match rms ratings perfectly. In fact, it's a good idea to buy an amplifier that provides more power than you actually need. Also, the Type R can handle well over 500 watts.
