Need Opinions about Ebay Situation

So, I bought a new head unit on ebay on September 12, which is now 15 days ago. I used paypal and immediately paid directly after buying the item. I bought the radio from a seller I have bought from before and like very much. The next day I get the tracking number and it seems all good. Days go by, and I have not received the item. Finally, on Friday September 22, ten days after the auction ended I emailed the seller to ask what the deal was. He emailed me back saying he didn't know, but he promised to make it right. Today, I personally emailed FedEx (the shipping company being used) and I got a response that the item hasn't been shipped. I forwared the email to the seller, and asked what the deal was. I also asked for a refund of the money I paid for shipping considering how long this has taken. I thought that was pretty reasonable. I get a one sentence email from the guy saying, "I never said when we were going to ship the item out. It will ship in a few days." Now, I trust the seller, I know I'll get my radio eventually, but I'm really pissed. Am I so wrong for thinking that 15 days, which is how long it's been since I paid for the item, is way too long for it to take to get to my door?? I thought the seller was being a real A-hole. He didn't even apologize for taking so long to ship the item. I am a regular ebayer and I know that feedback is very important, so I don't take leaving negative feedback for somebody lightly. Do you think I should slam the guy? (after I get my radio, of course) Should I ask for a complete refund just on principle? Sorry this is so long, I am jus so pissed

When a buyer pays paypal...seller are suppose to have the item out in 10 days iirc

File a paypal complaint and tell him to fok off.

I'd leave him a neg after you get it.

"I never said when we were going to ship the item out."

That right there.....is a bunch of crap!!!

eBay and PayPal both allow a seller 30 days once payment in full has been received to ship any won item to the winning bidder.

I do not find a window of a month to be reasonable, personally, but that what is stated in the UA for eBay and PayPal both.

What you can do if, once that 30 day window has elapsed and assuming your won item has not been shipped, is file a Non-Performing Seller report with eBay. (Basically the same process as a Non-Paying Bidder report but in reverse).

That Non-Performing Seller report will either get your seller in gear or get you your money back. The drawback to this is that you have to wait the full 30 days from the date of payment to file the report. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Leaving negative feedback for a seller almost always results in a retaliatory negative being left for the buyer. It's a sad but true fact of eBaying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

bimma - it's 30 days and there's not much that eBay can do about retaliatory feedback excepting if a seller files a Non-Paying Bidder report if that buyer does not satisfactorily resolve that dispute the buyer isn't allowed to leave feedback for that transaction.

There is no such restriction on sellers that I am aware of.

I deal with mostly antiques, vintage and rare items. I rarely have any trouble with a buyer or seller.

However with electronics....seems there are plenty of scandalous buyers and sellers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. I've sold many pieces of car audio and never had a problem, except for a few npb.

Talk to paypal and see what they say. Prowler is prolly right, but I swear I remember something about shipping items within 10 days.

There is NO excuse for taking more than a week to get the item out and even that is pretty dam long

What about buyers that just don't leave any feedback period. The last guy that bought my L5 paid instantly which was coo, so I sent it out the next morning the payment cleared my bank and gave him a tracking number and insured the sub for more than he bought it for, the guy didn't have the respect to respond to me or leave any feedback at all...

Big deal, deal with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif gonna be many more to come //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

actually, it was indoaudio, ha. I wasn't going to mention the seller, but i really don't care considering the situation. The radio, was finally shipped last night, 17 days after I paid for it. I figure I'll just **** it up, give him positive feedback so as not to get any retaliation feedback, and never buy from him again.
