Need new sub suggestions....RE's blew already

Yea, Re SE are great speakers for the price, but people just keep pushing the envelope.

Somebody Says they'll move on 800W

Anyother says they'll take 900W

Somebody else says thell burp 1200w

Next thing you know people run them daily at 1500w because people think they are gods gift to Car audio.

With my SE 12's still my favorite woofer ive ever owned, anything after 900w was almost useless anyways. It was doing all it could do at around 900w.
Exactly. Tommy McKinney runs 2 12" SEs sealed per IA 20.1 @ 18-19v, seeing about 1,500 rms per sub most likely. Sometimes after a 1 minute bassboxing run, there is pieces of woofer cone flying around in the cabin.

A RE SE isnt a 1,000+rms sub. Its a 600 watt sub. If you want 1,000+, go with the SX. The SEs would work with that amp... If you had 4-6 of them.

I have a feeling these threads are going to be more, and more common...

Everyone thinks they can run 1000 watts on these subs, but if it's for a daily vehicle I would do no more than 750 watts myself.

i was playing with a 10" for a while & 1800rms. i would only burp @full power and you could tell the spider was way to weak for this. i never blew it or even got the coil hot enough to smell it cause i was careful daily. i reconed it with better parts and it sounded even better and was 1.1dbs louder legal...

With a stock front and alt, then just a batcap 800 to back it up; the gp3000d

may well have been clipping to hell too. I've got more electrical for over 1500w

less power if you include his 600w alpine:laugh:

I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did with that much power on them.

So what do you want? 15's or 12's? There are a few inexpensive drivers that will handle the kind of power that you have, but it depends on whether you want two 15's or four 12's.

Re's are bad subs all of them ive heard hit good soo if your going budget go for them or matts. you can get the matts i have p2.5 at 700rms a piece they should take almost all of that amp can do

wait......??? You said that RE are bad subs....then said they hit good so go for them? Unless I read that wrong.

RE subs aren't bad at all. People may over talk about them, but that's it.
