Ok so I got an Explorer 2 12' D9's in a ported box, but the bass is so loud i cant really hear the music. So basicaly I need a good set of speakers that wont get dround out as easily as my stock ones are. Price range is under 500 for speaker front and back and an amp. Also if someone could tell me wether I need coax. or comps, I'm guessing coax since I dont really need the bass but I dont really know to much about speakers.

Ditch the rear speakers, and concentrate on the fronts...

You should be able to fit a pair of 6.5's in your doors. Boston, CDT, Memphis, Crystal, Image Dynamics and many others all make speakers worthy of consideration. $500 is a good budget, would even allow for a roll of sound deadening for your doors.

a 400w amp x 4 doesnt mean it divides 400 watts into 4 speakers.
check the RMS rating, that will tell you how much watts it gives speakers.
I know very little, but I do know that . Thanks though....

If I were to go with diamond how does this sound: 1 set of D6 comps for the front and 1 set of D6 coax. for the back? I havent decided on an amp yet, so suggestions on a good 400x4 amp would be nice.

400x4 is way more power than you need, not to mention will most likely blow your budget out of the water //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Get a 100x2 amp. Run the rears off the head unit if you still need ambience, although with a powerful substage I'm not quite sure how you'd hear them, or why you'd even want to.

Even if I buy on line?

IMO, Don't waste any money on rear fill. If you buy a set of good components and push 200w to them, they will be plenty loud enough. If you spend $ on rear fill you're just taking away from the quality of your fronts. IMO, that cash would be much better spent on better front components that can get as loud as you need and sound nice and clear

Ok then if I'm only going to be getting speakers for the front then that give me more money to spend. So which out of these would you chose: JL xr, Infinity Perfect, Alpine spx, or MB Quart QSC? (if I left one out feel free to suggest it.)
