The pioneer sub is actually a DVC Sub woofer,that has the ability to also be a svc.The sub is only rated 1/2 the Rms value at the DVC Rms rating/Full rating.

Any DVC sub can be used an SVC, so long as you realize you will be halving the power handling of the speaker, and altering its t/s specs.

A DVC is simply an SVC with the coil split between two circuits. So using only one coil in a DVC will lower power handling, thermally, by half (approx), and alter the t/s specs.

Hmm, could you suggest a cheaper (but not rubbish) mono amp that could power two appropriately sized subs?
