Need more bass, want to upgrade from single OA 12

Depends on what 15.
It also depends on what you plan on doing for a port and port area. I do not suggest using those 2 3" ports though, unless you plan to add more.
Well crap, ok. I have an OA 12 in 2.2cu^ft @ 33hz @ 850wrms. I want to go louder, i recalculated and i can make my box 3.85cu^ft gross if i let the sides out. Whats my best option? Bigger 12 or switch to 2 10s??? Hoping to use same box or make modifications to it

Well my guy seems really confident with the 15. Says well blow out the sides and back for motor and re-tune and re-baffle then if i have port noise we can go to bigger ports.

It's better to try out the 1 15 and see if it's to your liking. Not all 15s need larger boxes. I have a single 15 in a custom 3.5 cube box tuned to 35hz that kills the lows and blows out 2 10s. All people online can do is give you their opinions. You are the one driving your truck every day.

I got some d4 tens. Might be willing to part with for the right deal.
but arnt they skars? PM me about it

Yea thats what my buddy doing my box said. Hes so relaxed about it lol if u dont like it well fix it haha easy for him to say

Well i just got off the phone with AQ and they told me 3cu^ft out 2 3in ports is plenty and would sound great. My buildin buddy as also assured me he can make the box 3cu^ft net so i guess thats the direction im going lol

FYI, the back of the box has to be blow out anyway to accommodate for the extra depth the 15 has over 12s. So hes just going to do a larger area for the needed space, and knowing him if anything it will be over 3cubes when all said and done. The box is 50in long, and there a good 3-4inches behind the box near the bottom(sits at a slant) so i think we will have plenty of room to work with. Just hope the fiberglass job dosnt kill my wallet

No offense to Kevin at AQ but he has no idea on enclosure specifications at all. Great guy though.
The subwoofer will determine the port area, not the volume of the enclosure.
So would 2 10s or box modifications be a better solution IYP? The 10s would also be placed into same box, just rebaffle the front and let the sides out as needed

Honestly I refuse to "re-baffle" enclosures. I do it on walls some times, but even then I don't do it often. So from my perspective a real builder would just build something new.

As for my opinion, I think a dual 10 or single 12 setup would net the best results. Something as simple as moving where/how the port loads will alter the performance of the enclosure in your application. As I said earlier, many times there is no need to buy all new product.

If your running a DC sub when we played with them the bigger the box the louder it got it didn't really thrive in a small box as many claim it does a single 18 came to life in 7 cubes 32hz tuning was doing **** near a 150 on music off 3000 watts and it was just a regular lvl4

Yea he said he could make the 15 work since it was a single sub that just needs the baffle made a bit bigger but if i get the 10s were going to need a whole new design.

what about doing a blow through? how come this was never mentioned ?
its a bit more extensive then im trying to do and im on 1.2K lol would be nice though. Plus to be honestly my truck would get targeted pretty quick in this town, its small.
