Need more bass, want to upgrade from single OA 12

So im thinking i want to go bigger in my truck. As of now i dont drop below 12.8V at idle full tilt. Maybe 1K to my sub and my highs screaming, but im wanting more bass. I have 1.2K on tap @ 1ohm.

I think i can fit 3.5-3.75cu gross, in a wedge style box. I have the length for 3 10s but not sure if i have enough airspace. What you guys think?

Also 2 dayton HO 12s would also work since they need so little space, but im not sure how loud they would get. Looking for a nice SQL mix. A single 15 is too tall to fit

If you really want more bass, I would do 2 nice 10's, but you should think about getting more power. 2 10's of your choice on 2k-3k watts would be very nice.

Well as of this point im going to do a single 15 since we can chop up my current box and make it work. Looking at 1K subs

Ah cool well I'm sure you know your options. I would just do a sundown sa-15 and call it a day, but obviously there are quite a few other subs to choose from. What are you looking to get?

I would look at finding ways to increase the possible enclosure volume. If you do then you will end up with more possible options.

Same situation as many people are in, wish some of you all were closer, would be nice to check out what you have and see about getting you louder.

With a current gross of less then 3.5 I wouldn't try a 15 though.

Yea they need 3cu after all displacement at a minimum, but my builder said no worries and he knows how much space a 15 needs. In fact hes an spl guy, he likes boxes on the large side. But he thinks we can get it done no issues. Im going to measure how much i can let the box out

I wish u were closer too lmfao be nice to have someone like you doing my box, my guys decent but its his hobby not his job

This. I usually try to have a minimum of 4.0 cubes when doing a 15 so I have a solid 3.0 net when it's done. Though the obsidians do like smaller enclosures, I would still want a bit more to fit a decent sized port for it.

Were planning on using the ports i already have in the box. 2 3in aeros. But yea im not going to follow threw on the 15 if it gets a tiny box

You will want to adjust the port area and such...I just don't see you getting enough room to run a 15 back there to be honest. The net volume required, the port area required, and altered tuning will just take up far to much room to make it work.

I think rebuilding for the 12 will net a better result. Many times when we want more bass or output a new enclosure that loads differently and tuned a little differently works just as well as replacing everything.

Well i just measured my box, if we let the sides out it will be 3.739cu^ft gross, unless my builder plans on expanding another part
