It wasn't really asking tho... what he said was something along the lines of "tell us who took the laptop, and what you know about it, or you're going to be coming in here to take a lie detector test, do you understand?"

Then respond with "When you have a subpoena signed by a judge ordering me to take it then you may tell me what I will or will not do. Until that point in time comes to pass GET BENT."

They will say any and everything (off the record of course) up to and including threats, outright lies, whatever they feel may be helpful in their pursuit of finding someone to pin the crime on. An investigator's highest priority is to clear his or her caseload as rapidly as possible. In the interest of completing that things sometimes happen that aren't....quite.... completely above board, know what I mean? When the conversation isn't being recorded (where it may come back to bite them in the ass at some future point) then there's no telling what they may say to you to get you to tell them what they want to hear.

If you tell them to GET BENT as I have suggested there's not much they can do about it outside of get frustrated.

Just be aware that should you make a complete *** of yourself you may soon find your rate of traffic citations increases exponentially. (Cops can be incredibly vindictive at times...)

well I have been more helpful to them than I needed to be, that's for sure...I think I was doing it just because it really gets to me when Im being called a lier... It's just one of those things that really makes me tick, I think that's actully why I have been so helpful, just to prove Im not a bad guy.

and well I better not get more cop problems when driving than I already got. I already get DWB everyday... Can I really get pulled over more than my usual 2 or 3 times a day?

Can't do much about under age drinking after the fact my brother. I wouldn't act or should I say react angrily to wards the police. It will get you no where except for maybe in more trouble down the road if your in a small area. On the phone calls by him to you, that could be considered harassment or verbal threats but those would only hold up if you chose to use them for a restraining order, typically. As for the rest, prowler and the lot are right b/c as said, they literally can't make you do it without a subpoena. If you really want to legally piss them off, find a pro bono lawyer and tell them what's going on and have them talk to the police that way you 1) don't have to pay them and 2) the police could possibly no longer contact you and have to take all things through your lawyer which is a good thing for you.

so I really shouldnt take the lie detector test even tho I have nothing to hide? I mean, I could be 100% honest about that night and I don't see myself getting in trouble for anything... or would it really be that dumb to take it anyways?

I kinda want to help the guy who lost the laptop (even tho he's being dumb to me) just because I feel bad for him... I know I'd be wanting to shoot ppl if someone stole my computer... I wish he would just understand that he's accusing the wrong person... and he said I was the only person that was "not a close friend to him" that was at the party... so it's hard to convince him that it obviously was a close friend who stole it.

Man I had a small group of friends over one night consisting of like 10 people and I had my Jordan XI's the one's with the patton leather jacked and they were pristine along with my original Nike Shox. So I wouldn't really trust the whole clost friends thing, also if 3 people saw you steal it have you told the cops that? If you haven't then they need to know about that so they can get their statement. Again though i wouldn't take the lie detector test.

I wish... he's a little kid, he thinks he's strong because he's in the military... I'm not worried about him... but last time someone tried to fight him, they got jumped by like 60 mob guys... the guy's like in some kind of foreign mafia or something... They mess a lot of guys up... Right now, he's a little scared of me because Im black lol, so I guess its alright for now.

**** sorry to hear about the Jordan XI's... Honestly my favorite pair of basketball sneakers. I got the white ones, they are so comfortable... but don't worry, Im not the one who stole them from you lol.

and yeah, I didnt mention that to the cops on the phone... it kinda slipped my mind. All of this stuff was 2 weeks old for me and I wasnt thinking about it.
