I have a buddy that has the proper electrical system to get pretty damm loud. He has a Memphis 2000d (like 2400wrms) and was running it to 3 L7 12's. He wants to go from that to 2 L7 15's and I'm trying to steer him into a FI BTL 18. He swears that the L7's will have more output, which is all hes concerned with. He likes to show off. So L7 15's or BTL 18 in sheer spl. He'll be looking at this soon so hopefully I'm right. Which?

IMO it will be close. Cone area has a good advantage and L7's do get loud.

I had 1 MT 18 and switched to 2 Brahma 15s recently and the brahmas are MUCH louder then the 1 18 was to the ear with music. I dont know about on the meter though.

BTL might win just because it is much beefier then the L7's are, but I would say it would be very very close granted both are in the right boxes.

tough one, get those L7's in the right box they will get loud, but dont sleep on the BTL one of the best spl oriented subs ive heard clen and loud, IMO the BTL may sound cleaner than the L7's
