Ok so what i want to do is make a clipping indicator or a volt meter wich tell me when i reach about 34-35 volts and cliping starts(my amp kicker kx1200.1 does 1200rms at 1 ohm). i know most of u just set it to your test tone and leave it. But on most songs you will never reach that voltage, I want my subs doing there full potential. With the volt meter i would never worry about cliping it when i adjust my sub output or bass. Do u thing i could just run wire from my + and - speaker terminals on amp to a volt meter and a power cable from battery? has anyone ever that of this?

i know how to set gains. i just want to be able to turn up the volume, bass sub output ect. because each song is diffrent i just want to make sure im not clipping when doing so.
