I just finished wiring up my new subwoofer to an old amp a buddy had laying around and i feel it is not hitting as hard as it should and i found that when i unplug one of the rcas from the amp it hits alot harder im running a jbl gt5-12 with a alpine mrp-m450 amp and kicker loc does anyone have any suggestions

Great question.

Typically, when the output increases when a channel is removed something is out of phase. Double check your wiring to the converter and make sure you're bridging the amp correctly.
